NEW YORK (Reuters) – The damage from Hurricane Harvey to production plants and the shipping system in the Gulf of Mexico region will likely pinch the manufacturing sector nationwide in the near term, Timothy Fiore, chair of the manufacturing group at the Institute for Supply Management, said on Friday.

Disruption to the energy and other major industries in the area impacted by the most powerful storm to hit Texas in over 50 years is expected to fade six months from now, said Fiore, citing results of a survey of ISM members.
