WhatsAppSaudi Arabia deployed its U.S.-provided patriot missile defense system against a Yemeni missile targeting the capital city of Riyadh Saturday.
WATCH:
The missile was launched by Houthi rebels, an Iranian backed Shiite militia Saudi Arabia is actively fighting in the neighboring gulf country. The missile was reportedly towards an airport in the capital city if Riyadh, spreading panic throughout.
President Donald Trump and Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud talked about the incident with the Patriot Missile Defense system.
“A shot was taken by Iran, in my opinion, at Saudi Arabia. And our system knocked it down,” Trump told reporters Sunday. “That’s how good we are. Nobody makes what we make and now we’re selling it all over the world.”
